Take a tour
through the best parts
of this wonderful island.
The island is in transition this winter. Following the removal of parking on the wasteland at Elafonisi, the governing bodies have decided that access to Greece's beaches is far from acceptable. They have ordered the removal of all non legal beachside restaurants and are issuing large fines, up to €60K, to transgressors. My favourite restaurant in Almyrida was one of the first to go. Dec 2025
Although this law is firmly in place, it looks as if the restaurants and bars could care less as they seem to be reinstating their beachfront premises. Certainly in Almyrida. Getting ready for Easter.
